Home Learning Programme
In light of the coronavirus pandemic and our witnessing first-hand how education grinds to a halt when Indonesia is faced with natural or man-made disasters, YE created the Home Learning Programme (HLP) in 2020 to mitigate the negative impact of such events while improving the long-term resiliency of educational systems in the country.
The HLP seeks to holistically address the challenges of remote or online learning. The five main factors that impede quality home learning and which we provide solutions for are the following: (1) adequate hardware (mobile tablets), (2) connectivity (free WiFi and/or internet quota), (3) free and appropriate educational software, (4) technical training for principals and teachers in using hardware and software, and (5) pedagogical training on integrating inquiry based learning and technology.
So far 810 tablets managed by proper mobile device management systems and educational software have been delivered to schools, 907 students and teachers have access to free and stable internet, while 4,335 teachers and students have had access to in-depth technical and pedagogic training on integrating technology and education.
